WOW! Mr. Randy’s and Shawn’s departure date for Liberia is less than two weeks away. I have to share a few thoughts and praises with you.
God is doing so many things to pull this journey for his namesake together. Last Saturday (3-15-08) I received a phone call that there was a bunch of great kids selling coffee and dough nuts in the cold and drizzle to raise money for our trip to Liberia. Sure enough, I pull in 45 minutes after that call, in front of Lowes, and me and my truck were greeted by 15 kids shouting “Mr. Randy’s here”. My heart was truly blessed and so was our funding…they raised $500.00 for the trip.
On Friday (3-21-08) the elementary ministry threw a sleepover party to raise money for our trip and 157 kids showed up and raised $1000.00. Praise God! What a blast that was…..I think. Many thanks to ALL the kids, parents, ministers, and especially the volunteers who made that event possible. Every penny raised by kids goes specifically for orphaned children in Liberia. What a great investment and what awesome and giving children are being raised at OCC.
At this stage of the game…we have been vaccinated, received passports, obtained visas, received airline tickets, itinerary, etc. It’s almost time to start packing!
There has been such support from so many of you reading this right now. Both prayer support and financial. We thank you and God bless you.
I know Shawn and I are both going through a variety of emotions as we pray and prepare for departure. I know we are both excited about being blessed to be laborers, for the harvest is plentiful.
